GET INVOLVED WITH

OUR RESEARCH!

FOR PARENTS

We cannot do the important work that we do without the generous involvement of families living in Orange County, California, and the surrounding areas.  We are extremely grateful for your contributions to our work and we expect that learning more about memory development in the first years of life will positively impact the lives of infants and their families over the long term.

If you are interested in learning more about potential research studies for which you and your child may be eligible, please feel free to fill out our secure Parent Information Questionnaire that will allow us to collect your contact information. Please also pass this information along to anyone else you know who might be interested in learning more about our research. We will be in touch soon!

FOR STUDENTS

Potential Graduate Students

If you are interested in pursuing graduate study with Dr. Lukowski in the Department of Psychological Science, please contact her for more information about her work, the department, and the application process.

Recruitment information for our next cohort will be posted on our department website.

Undergraduate Students

We are currently not recruiting new Research Assistants at this time. Please check back in the future (or look out for emails from Social Ecology) for when we are accepting applications!

Undergraduate students who have interests in developmental psychology, cognition, and neuroscience are encouraged to apply to become research assistants at UCI's INCHES Lab. This is a great opportunity for students who may be considering applying to graduate school or who want to learn more about conducting research with infants and children! Students pursuing degrees in Psychological Science, Cognitive Science, Public Health, or other related majors are encouraged to apply. Students receive research credit in a Psychology Science course (SE 198 or SE 199) in exchange for their contribution to the lab; outstanding students may also receive letters of recommendation for scholarships, graduate school, or employment opportunities.

General requirements: Undergraduates who are interested in being considered for a research assistant position and who have at least a 3.5 overall grade point average. Research assistants are required to commit to working at least ten hours per week for as minimum of three consecutive quarters; some evening and weekend hours may be required depending on the studies that are being conducted at the time. Selected undergraduates will have academic and research interests that coincide with the work being conducted in the lab; outstanding organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail; exhibit good verbal communication skills and interact well with others; and be responsible, dependable, and enthusiastic about working with participants and their families.
